Frank Lentine 47 year old Chemist Binghamton, New York Married Millie Henning on May 6, 1995 Binghamton Crabbs I don’t have the energy and enthusiasm I had for APBA 10-20 years ago. There are just so many other things that seem to take priority these days. Coupling this with the overall state of Major League Baseball, I find it hard to sustain the interest I used to have. Still, I love the competition and the game. The TCBA remains a unique cast of individuals with whom I can’t easily part. Hopefully we’ll all be around for another 20 years. I am currently the 7th owner of this TCBA/AL franchise, which has had eight name changes in its history. Ironically it won the TCBA Championship in 1978 as the Greylock Gators under the direction of my late neighbor and friend, Jerry Siciliano, who passed away from Hodgkin’s Disease several years ago. Many will remember Jerry as quite a character. His major flaw was his acid pen, which in the end got him banned from TCBA. I miss Jerry. We both had a love for UMass basketball and attended many a game together. Bob Wood - Who could ever forget the late inning rallies and telephone histrionics of the Italian madman, the late Jerry Siciliano? Bob Braun - Once, while I was in Scottsdale, Arizona attending my very first sales conference with Simon & Schuster, I received an angry phone call message left in my hotel room by Jerry. Along with that was another message from Meg, telling me about some lunatic named Jerry Silly-O, or something like that, who had called and screamed at her. She became so upset she gave him the number of the hotel I was in. It was early December, so I guess Jerry was looking for some season-ending stats, or something. I also suffered some late-inning losses to Jerry, something that seemed more common with the dice. I wonder why the computer doesn’t do that? Frank Lentine - The team fell on hard times following Jerry’s departure in 1979. Re-emerging in 1985 as the Leesville Hurricanes after a year of inactivity, the franchise posted its best single season record of 102 wins. The 1994 season concluded my 5th year at the helm, producing the first playoff team since that 1985 squad. No other individual has owned this franchise for more than four years. Prior to 1990, I operated the North Adams franchise in the National League as a charter member of TCBA. During that 15-year stretch the team won a division title, made two playoff appearances, and finished second six times.
