Bob Wood - The results are in, and here is the recap of our award winners.

Baltimore's Charlie Gehringer hit .411, earning the Orioles a bonus of 1.0 points

Jimmie Foxx (Sacramento) and Hank Greenberg (Long Island) shared the home run title with 45 apiece, each earning their club 1.0 points

The Big Cat, Johnny Mize of Bergen earned the Barflies 1.0 points with his league leading 165 rbi.

Kilkenny's Lou Fette won 24 games, more than any other pitcher in the league, giving the Gaelics 1.0 points.

Another Division winner, Siouxland, relied upon a pitcher to earn bonus points.  In this case, it was Lefty Gomez who not only led the league with an ERA of 1.56 but fanned a total of 271 hitters, giving the Explorers 2.0 bonus points.

Long Island's pitchers had a league best 3.58 ERA, earning the Islanders 0.5 points

Led by Gomez, the Explorer pitching staff struck out 805 opponents to lead all teams and add 0.5 points to the Siouxland total.

Bradenton hitters hit at a .315 clip, giving the Buckeyes 0.5 points, but it was the sluggers of South Starrucca that led the league in both homeruns (145) and in runs scored (1,070) to earn 1.0 points for the Ainspans.

Newton and Baltimore fielders each finished with a percentage of .976 which earned their clubs 0.5 points apiece.

For the 2nd year in a row, it was Bergen's defense that led the league in double plays, turning 185 this year to give the Barflies another 0.5 points.

Three pitchers won 8 straight starts.  Two were Gaelics (Eldon Auker and Lou Fette) and the third was Bill Lee of Mimosa.  Each pitcher earned 0.5 points for his team (so the Gaelics collect twice).

Lee also matched the longest scoreless streak of 32.0 innings, along with Dizzy Dean of Bradenton.  Both the Mirthmakers and the Buckeyes receive .05 points apiece for those efforts.

Long Island's Heinie Manush hit in 29 straight games.  Lou Gehrig of Newton reached base in 53 consecutive contests.  Bill Dickey of Hyde Park and Hank Greenberg of Long Island both hit homers in 5 games in a row.  Earl Averill of Kilkenny played 141 games without an error.  Each of those achievements earned 0.5 points for their respective teams.

Gold Gloves win 0.5 points for each player winning, or sharing, the award.  The winners were:

2B - Burgess Whitehead, Newton, 19 points

3B - Red Rolfe (Sacramento) and Odell Hale (Annapolis), 17 points apiece

SS - Dick Bartell (Wilderness, 19 points

LF - Vince DiMaggio (Mexicali, 18 points)

CF - Ben Chapman (Bergen, 19 points)

RF - Earl Averill (Kilkenny - our only unanimous winner with 20 points)

1B - Hank Greenberg (LI) and Jimmie Foxx (SM) with .995 averages each

C - Bill Dickey (Hyde Park, 17 points)

P - Bucky Walters (Newton with 70 successful chances 1.000 pct)

2.5 points - Siouxland

2.0 points - Bergen, Newton and Sacramento

1.5 points - Baltimore

1.0 points - Bradenton, Hyde Park, Mimosa and South Starrucca

0.5 points - Annapolis, Mexicali and Wilderness

0.0 points - Chesapeake and Waukesha
