History
Brief: Franchise #10 has been
entrenched in TCBA since the very beginning of the league’s existence,
originally known as the Waukesha Freemen, dating back to the late 19th
century under the guidance of orator Ken Sajdak. In late 1972, responding
to published reports that named Sajdak as possibly “Deep Throat,” Sajdak
sold his franchise to a little known government employee,
Joe Elinich, who quietly moved the franchise to Pittsburgh for the 1973
season. Little is known of the connection between the Sajdaks
and the Elinichs, except that each family once
operated a TCBA franchise in the early years of the 20th
century. Mysteriously, they each had disappeared from the public eye by the
end of 1973.
Frank Tedeschi purchased Franchise 10 at a storage auction
prior to the 1974 season, but then sold it to Evanston’s pharmacy magnate, Al
Keefer, who retained control until 2023, when Joe Elinich reappeared,
repurchased Franchise 10, and returned the team to Pittsburgh, once again
as the Alleghenies. Due to health issues, Elinich was forced to divest the
franchise following the 2024 season, turning control of the team to wealthy
Drone designer, John Anderson, who moved the team to Waller in time for the
2025 season.
