Bursting on to the scene in 1933, Joe
Medwick immediately situated himself on the Kilkenny roster as an offensive powerhouse,
culminating with a league championship for Mike Kane’s Gaelics
in 1938. In that season, Medwick smashed 62 doubles and 32 home runs, drove
in 164 runs, and finished the season with an even .400 batting average. “Ducky” spent eleven seasons with Kilkenny
before war-time league restructuring moved him to Bradenton for his final six
TCBA seasons. 76% of the available ballots were cast for
Class 33, with no strong runner-up behind Medwick. Voting for Class 34 is scheduled for
